Books for Nigeria

BOOK DONATION

Introduction: According to Dr. Ngboawaji Daniel Nte, The lack of reading culture in African Universities, Colleges and High Schools stem essentially from poverty, corruption and maladministration. The result is a weak academic base characterized by obsolete knowledge and unemployable graduates in a weak economy. The situation is worsened by lack of access to internet facilities. There is therefore the need to assist schools and colleges in this part of the world by donating used, discarded and complimentary copies of Books, Journals, Annual Reports, Gazettes, CD/DVD, Maps etc., and other reading materials to educational institutions in this region as part of our humanitarian contribution to the development of Africa.

As a Pilot scheme, Nigeria is selected with the Niger Delta Region the primary focus of the scheme. The choice of this region is predicated on the fact that it is the most volatile of all the regions and holds the key to the peace of not just Nigeria, West Africa, the whole of Africa and indeed the world because of the presence of huge amount of Oil and Gas. In the last few years the region has remained a hot bed of crisis as a reaction to decades of marginalization by the central government of Nigeria even as the region produces virtually the entire wealth of the nation.

The pilot scheme shall cover some Selected Colleges and Universities in

the six Niger Delta States as follows:
